Hello, Yuru! A few months ago, I asked you for some advice on how to quit social media. It was a gradual process but I deleted Tiktok first and have never looked back, Instagram and Discord were trickier due to the fact that everyone else in my social circle used them. I found out about this app called Beeper that lets you connect said accounts and would only be able to access messages, it’s been pretty convenient. It’s essentially a modern pager. The change has been great as expected. My memory is still poor but journaling about my days has certainly helped with it. I don’t journal daily but it’s awesome to write down my thoughts whenever I want, especially private thoughts that’d be too intimidating to bring up to people, I’m not really close with anyone like that. By the time I grew enough to be conscious, I was given a tablet and Youtube, so I never really learned a hobby nor had the chance to truly scour the web during its glory. My attention span is fucked and it was hard to be content with the mundane. Now without social media, I could be considered a boring, simple person tending to their responsibilities. I know in my soul however that quitting social media has given me more time, space, and control for the things I want to do. I’m a creative that never mastered a medium, it’s exciting to be a blank canvas, you know? Anyways, I wanted to say thank you. You were one of many encouragements that gave me that final push. I hope to learn HTML and CSS soon when my schedule frees up so I can finally make my own site. Till then, take care.

You likely don't need me to tell you this, but you are the best expert on yourself. Don't let anyone tell you what or who you are or what you supposedly feel deep down. You are the only person with full, unrestricted access to your own thoughts & feelings. You know who you are & who you are not. It's unfortunate you deal with people commonly trying to tell you who you are/aren't or how you supposedly feel just because it doesn't align with their perspective. People have a hard time with the unknown & struggle to let it be; I hope you know what makes you up as a person whether "problematic" or not is inherently art, as it would be with anyone. I can't speak for personal things, because I don't know you & you don't know me, but I can definitely tell you that you know who you are & that is always good enough.
